The main idea behind the Qatar pavilion was to convey the image of the country, the atmosphere of tradition and hospitality. We sought to create a multi-level comfortable public space where visitors and participants can not only solve business issues, but also relax from the intense rhythm of the forum.
The pavilion was created in the form of a small town with a central square with a café, a meeting place, communication and recreation areas for delegations and visitors. The central public areas are formed by architectural volumes finished with natural materials. The whole pavilion is united by a large-scale suspended installation. A semi-transparent structure made of ephemeral rattan netting creates an image referring to the authentic architecture of Qatar. This solution also makes it possible to organically form and zone the volumes of functional spaces. The pavilion unites a large number of participants under its roof, which makes it possible to present the economy and culture of the state.
